I installed this battery in an old 36v ezego txt, non PDS. The installation is fairly straightforward. You have to grind out the old battery hold down brackets off the tray first. You can either buy a drop in battery tray or put something down in the tray. I used a piece of 3/4 plywood in both sides of the tray.
The battery actually fits in one side of the tray perfectly. I put it in the front tray.
I did like most do and just used a ratchet strap to hold it in.
So, as mentioned in other reviews, it gets rid of about 300 pounds, nice.
It seems to perform ok, but really slows down going up hills and we live in a really hilly area.
If putting two in parallel would help I may consider that.
I'll update as I get more experience with it, but for now I think it's well worth it considering no more lead acid problems and much less weight. Hopefully, it will live up to it's longevity billing.
Update: So after taking the golf cart with us on a camping trip to a very hilly campground, I can say the battery performance was phenomenal.
We were there 4 days and the cart was used a lot and mostly fully loaded.
The battery had 76% when we started and I charged it for about an hour once when it got to 56%. I didn't get to finish the charge so it went back to about 70 ish percent.
It finally got down to 46% by the time we went home.
It is so nice to not have to worry about lead acid batteries any longer.
Time will tell as to the longevity, but it is doing great so far.
At this point, the battery seems very solid and has great incorporated BMS capability. The battery seems well constructed, took the initial charge from my LiFePO4 charger. I was able to monitor the initial charging from ~50% to 100% via the provided Bluetooth monitoring capabilities (very cool capability).
I will return with more information here after I get some time to hook this to a 3000W inverter to put some load on it with my power monitor to check how it performs with a load. I will also then connect it to my MPPT charge controller to watch it charge from an 800W solar panel.
At this point, happy with the battery. The load tests will be the next evaluation and probably the more important.
Installation of the battery into a 2012 EZGO RXV was very straight forward and simple. Able to use the RXV's existing battery hold down to mount the CHINS 100aH battery in place WITHOUT any alterations. Also mounted a CHINS 48v 10A LiFePO4 smart charger within the cart's battery compartment along with a 13A AC plug port to power the charger. Have only used the cart for a couple of days, but so far have been very pleased with the battery and charger's performance. Find the Bluetooth battery condition reporting to be quite impressive and very handy.
I ordered the 48 volt 100 amp hour battery for my DIY solar generator. It came fairly quickly. I hooked it up to hybrid inverter and charge controller. I latter learned that the hybrid unit was set to Gel batteries which caused the batteries BMS to kick in to protect the battery. When my hybrid unit didn't turn on I assumed the BMS had kicked in for some reason. I immediately contacted Chins and they were offering for me to send the battery back so they could check it out. I said I would like to see if we could try to fix the issue through e-mail communication first. They asked for a screen shot of my phone app so they could see what the battery was doing. It took a couple of attempts at solving the issue but we did get the issue solved. It was exactly as I thought. The BMS kicked in. I had to hook up my panels to my hybrid unit in order to set the parameters and that is when I discovered the unit was set for Gel batteries. I now have the battery installed in my DIY solar generator. It's a 5000 watt generator and now I have 5000 watt hours of storage. The battery is working perfectly and I will probably be ordering another one so i will have 10,000 watt hours of storage.
This battery replaced my lead acid batteries in my EZGO cart. I was getting to the point of charging my 3 year old batteries nearly every time I used the cart. I put this battery in about 4 weeks ago and have only charged it twice once it dropped to about 60% or so. My cycle count is still at 2. Amazing for the $$
